LIGHT FROM LIGHT is a 501(c)3 non-profit focused on caring for and building up communities in need. We partner with local leaders and organizations that are on site and effectively transforming the lives around them. Our mission is to share the light of Jesus Christ in partnership with them as we work to improve community health in a rich variety of ways. In Haiti, Light from Light partners with Lespwa Timoun Clinic (which means “Hope for Children”) to deliver health, nutrition and educational services to those in need in eight communities in and around Port-au-Prince. When communities improve, the whole world improves.
- Children’s Nutrition. A program called “Lespwa Timoun” serves severely malnourished children
- Children’s Education, A scholarship program provides support for four schools operated by the
Episcopal Church. It permits 900 impoverished children to attend class. Construction of a new school in the
mountain village of Crochu is well underway. - Medical and Dental Care. We send teams of physicians, dentists, optometrists and volunteers with donated medications, to conduct medical/dental clinics in the countryside. We are centered in the Myrtle Beach area of South Carolina, but we receive support from all over the United States, and send teams to Haiti, not only from the Myrtle Beach area, but also from North Carolina, Arkansas, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio, Arizona, and Washington State.
