The Chapel by the Sea

Healing prayers are held at the Chapel on Thursdays, by appointment only.  All are welcome.

Welcome to the Prayer Chapel

located at 504 North Kings Highway in downtown Myrtle Beach.

It is our prayer that you find God’s peace and comfort while you are here.

We would like to share with you how this Chapel came to be, so you will know and understand there is a reason you are here.  Through prayer it became clear that this building was to be used for God’s purpose. What purpose we did not know, but when mentioned to others the feeling was confirmed.  Once the building was made available, volunteers from all walks of life enthusiastically came forward to prepare and furnish the Chapel.  From replacement of the flooring to painting to repairs, everything started falling into place. Once the repairs were completed, donations of the items you see then followed.

One of the first items received were a box of New Testaments to be made available for anyone who wanted to learn more of God’s love for them.  The donor specifically indicated that it was his hope that the people that come to this place know they are loved and worthy in God’s eyes and referenced John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.”

The donations kept coming. We received donations ranging from framed art to the couch to the lamp to the chairs to the coffeemaker and everything else you see.  Most importantly came the bible that lies on the altar.

The story of the Cross: The cross you see was handcrafted from wood from a Church that had been destroyed.  It was not until the cross was completed and in its final stages of being stained, that the image you see now became apparent.  Look closely and feel the love of Jesus surround you.

During the week of March 19, 2012 members and friends of the Well by the Sea Church began undertaking the task of reading the entire bible in the Chapel. Volunteers signed up in 15 minute increments so that God’s word can infiltrate the place you now stand.  Please know that God is in this place and cares for you.

The  Chapel by the Sea is located behind the Law offices of Ohanesian  and Ohanesian located across from the Myrtle Beach Post Office.
